2025 OCR A Level Classical Greek Paper 2 and Mark Scheme Combined (H444/02 Prose Composition or Comprehension)

Paper 2 is called “Prose Composition or Comprehension”.
It is an externally assessed written exam.
It carries 50 marks and contributes 17% of the total A‑Level grade.
The exam lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.
In the exam, you must choose between two options:
- Section A: Comprehension — work with an unseen prose passage in Classical Greek: translate into English, answer comprehension questions, and do grammar/accidence analysis.
- Section B: Prose Composition — translate a passage (or sentences) from English into Classical Greek.
You answer either Section A or Section B (not both). Occasionally a candidate may attempt both — in which case both are marked, but only the higher mark counts.
