Demonstrating comprehension across tasks: picking out gist, details, opinions, implicit meaning.
Managing time: using the 5‑minute reading window effectively, staying alert during listening (when extracts are played twice), answering as per mark allocation.
Practising listening skills: familiarity with vocabulary and structures from all course themes (daily life, travel, school, leisure, etc.), and ability to understand different accents / speeds.
